Thomas Pitt died from wounds on 11th March, 1915, after having been sent to a base hospital on the coast, but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 1st Lifeguards were part of 7 Cavalry Brigade, 3rd Cavalry Division and had been on the Western Front since the start of the war
